About Me

Hi, I’m Whitney Albright - an occupational therapist, military spouse, and mom of four with over 16 years of experience supporting individuals across the lifespan. I primarily work in school-based settings with middle and high school students. In addition, I run a part-time private practice providing mobile outpatient occupational therapy services tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals and families in hospitals, schools, homes, and communities. What has remained constant is my passion for partnering with others to ensure meaningful outcomes. I believe the most impactful support comes from truly understanding a person’s daily life, which is why I am deeply committed to working within natural environments to get a clear, authentic picture of how to foster progress and independence.

My work is centered around identifying and addressing the everyday challenges that interfere with meaningful participation. I see these challenges as opportunities for growth and am passionate about helping people overcome them through individualized, goal-oriented approaches.

I specialize in supporting children, adolescents, and young adults with a wide range of developmental, neurological, and emotional needs, including intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), autism, ADHD, anxiety, and developmental trauma. My part-time private practice focuses on providing these services in the home and community settings. I also work with clients who experience sensory processing differences, executive functioning challenges, and rare or complex neurodevelopmental conditions as they prepare for life after school. I am especially drawn to building self-regulation and executive functioning skills—foundations for academic success, employment, and daily living.

In addition, I have a special interest in the hand-brain connection and how developing legible, efficient handwriting can support not only academic performance but also literacy, comprehension, and overall cognitive engagement. I enjoy helping students build writing fluency in a way that strengthens their confidence and enhances their ability to access and express ideas across all areas of learning.

In addition to my school-based role, I am accepting a limited caseload of 5–7 clients at a time in my private practice, with the capability to maintain a waiting list as needed. This flexible model allows me to meet individuals and families where they are—literally and figuratively—and provide meaningful, real-world support.

When I’m not working, I stay busy carpooling to practices and games, cheering on my kids from the sidelines, tending to my garden and ever-growing collection of indoor plants, spending time outdoors with my family, and reading aloud to my kids.
